Terms of Service
These terms explain what CareerSteer does, what it does not do, and the rules for using it.
1. Agreement
By using CareerSteer you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. The service
CareerSteer analyzes text and screenshots you submit and returns a risk rating with supporting evidence and verification steps. It is an informational tool only.
3. No guarantee of accuracy
Risk ratings are automated estimates. A low rating does not guarantee an offer is genuine, and a high rating does not prove fraud. Always verify an employer independently before sharing personal or financial information.
4. Not professional advice
CareerSteer does not provide legal, financial, employment or investigative advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship.
5. Acceptable use
You may submit messages you received or are reviewing in good faith. You may not use CareerSteer to harass anyone, to test or refine fraudulent content, to scrape or resell results, or to break any law.
6. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account. You may delete your account at any time from Account settings.
7. Free reports, plans and payment
Every new account includes one free trial scan. After that: a one-time Single Scan Pass ($2.99, good for one complete check), a 30-Day Search Pass ($7.99 flat for 30 days of unlimited scans, ad-free), CareerSteer Corporate ($19.99 per month, up to 100 shared scans and 5 staff seats) or CareerSteer Enterprise ($49.99 per month, unlimited scans, brand spoofing alerts, priority processing and API access). Passes do not expire before use but are not refundable once used. Subscriptions renew until canceled, and you can cancel at any time from Account settings; cancellation stops future charges and access continues to the end of the paid period.
8. Refunds
If a paid plan does not work as described, contact support@careersteer.app within 14 days and we will review a refund.
9. Advertising
Free plans may display advertising from third-party networks. Advertisers are independent of CareerSteer, and an advert is not an endorsement.
10. Intellectual property
CareerSteer's software, branding and report formats remain our property. The content you submit remains yours; you grant us only the permission needed to analyze it and show you the result.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareerSteer is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on a risk rating or from your dealings with any employer or recruiter.
